RhUM AND BEACH TOUR

When you’re beach bound in the Caribbean and the Rum is calling, you’d better know what you’re getting into. Rum is made throughout the Caribbean and this region is assuredly Rum’s home base. Perhaps more than any other spirit, rum can be difficult to understand thanks to the undefined or unenforced classifications sprinkled through various labels. Consider this your entry-level guide to enjoying Caribbean rhum and finding the styles and bottles that suit your taste buds best!

Our Rhum Beach Tour will start you out in Colombier’s famous Guavaberry Rum Distillery, made from locally harvested guava berries. Guests will enjoy a 25-minute rum tour, located among the lush, green hills of Colombier.

This distillery is home to more than thirty types of rhum flavors, honey and the ad-hoc rum mixer. Make sure you try the actual guava berry fruit while at its peak - before it becomes liquor.

Guests will continue their rum tour by stopping at Cul de Sac’s 1648 Gouverneur distillery. They will enjoy a twenty-minute tour, where they will learn about rum made from sugar cane. Four different types of rum will be sampled and learn how to make four specialty cocktails from rum.

Once this is finished, guests will head to Orient Beach, where they can sit, relax and enjoy the beach at one of several local beach bars & restaurants that serve everything from fresh fish to quesadillas and hamburgers.
